Learn moreAbout Walk a Mile in a Refugee’s shoes
Many refugees from diverse countries live in NZ, yet they remain largely unknown to us. So we are going to begin to change that, through this fundraising campaign CNZBA & UNHCR are reaching out to the wider community of NZ to walk a mile in a refugees shoes.
Our charity has supported refugees and migrants in New Zealand for the last ten years and this year we are going even further in our efforts to support these often vulnerable yet awesome communities among us. Following on from World Refugee Week, we kick started our ‘Walk a Mile’ campaign and fundraiser. It includes a series of small organised walks where refugees will share their story with a small group to build connections and understanding.
People from the wider community can participate by joining the walk, donating for the cause or by hosting a refugee family for tea in their homes.
